What Room
Terms of Service
About these terms
What Room is provided by White Room (M) Sdn Bhd ("White Room", "we"). It connects a client's WhatsApp number to the app White Room builds for that client. These terms apply to every client that uses What Room and to the people who use the portal for it. They sit alongside the client's agreement with White Room, which applies where the two differ. Any fees for What Room are set in that agreement.
Who can use What Room
What Room is only for businesses White Room already builds apps for, under their client agreement. There is no public sign-up: portal accounts are by invitation, for White Room staff and the client's own staff.
Meta's terms and billing
- The client connects its own WhatsApp number through Meta's Embedded Signup, logging in with its own Meta account, and accepts Meta's terms for WhatsApp there. The client follows those terms and the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy.
- The client pays Meta directly for its messages, with its own payment method. White Room doesn't resell messaging.
- Meta can change, limit or end its services, independently of White Room.
Acceptable use
The client uses What Room only to message its own end users, and:
- messages only people who have given it their number and agreed to get its messages, for example by asking for a sign-in code;
- doesn't send bulk marketing or campaign messages through What Room;
- stops messaging anyone who asks it to;
- sends only templates Meta has approved, except for replies within WhatsApp's 24-hour customer service window;
- keeps a privacy notice that tells its end users how it uses their data, and handles their requests about it;
- sends nothing unlawful, misleading or harmful.
Sign-in codes
Because the client's number also works in the WhatsApp Business app, every message sent from it, sign-in codes included, also appears on the client's business phone. The client accepts this in writing before its app sends sign-in codes.
Suspension
We can stop all sending for a client's number at once, at any time, if we think it's needed: for example, to protect end users, if these terms or Meta's policies are broken, if Meta restricts the account, or during a security incident. Each number also has a daily sending limit. We tell the client as soon as we can.
Disconnecting
The client can disconnect its number at any time in the WhatsApp Business app, under Settings > Account > Business Platform > Disconnect Account. Meta also disconnects a number when the WhatsApp Business app hasn't been opened on the business phone for about 14 days. After a client disconnects, we delete its data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Availability
What Room depends on Meta's services and on our servers. We work to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. While it's down, the client's app can't send WhatsApp messages, including sign-in codes.
Liability
As far as the law allows, White Room isn't liable for Meta's services, for messages the client chooses to send, or for indirect or consequential losses. Otherwise, our total liability to a client is limited to the fees it paid White Room for What Room in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia decide any dispute about them.
